Flying over Mauritius
Experience Mauritius in a unique and breathtaking way. Instead of taking the car for a ride through the evergreen sugarcane plantations or enjoying yourself on a boat trip through the turquoise water you can try something not as touristic. Discover the island and it`s islets through the bird’s eye view.
Wings Aviation Club offers the one-time opportunity to fly over different lagoons with an ultra light airplane. Depending on the waves, the tide and the water level the aircraft can lift up to 400kg. With an airplane fleet of 4 Airplanes Wings Aviation Club is the only private provider for this kind of fun. For three years now they fly their clients over the most beautiful lagoons of the island. So take your seat, fasten your seatbelt, headset on and up you go.
My flight started from Grand Bay. After a departure directly from the water, which can be a little bit wet, Frank the pilot flew me to the lagoons in the north-east of the island. The view along the mile long coastline was fascinating. After having reached altitude of 100 meter the pilot provides you with some general information and tells you a little bit about the surrounding islets, in French, English or even German.
